Metro Rod Cambridge is looking for a Drainage Engineer to join our growing team. This is a full-time, permanent position carrying out a variety of reactive and planned drainage works for commercial and domestic customers. No two days are the same, so we're looking for someone who enjoys problem-solving, takes pride in their work and wants to be part of a supportive team.
We offer a competitive salary of £28,500–£33,800, depending on experience, with the opportunity to increase your earnings through paid overtime, on-call rota and incentive scheme.
The successful candidate will be provided with a company van, fuel card, uniform and all equipment required for the role.
Responsibilities
- Carry out drain clearance, cleaning, maintenance and repair works.
- Operate high-pressure water jetting equipment safely and in accordance with company procedures.
- Carry out CCTV drainage surveys where required.
- Provide a high standard of customer service and technical expertise.
- Accurately record work completed using company and client systems.
- Communicate professionally with commercial and domestic customers, colleagues and the Metro Rod Support Centre.
- Participate in the on-call rota to provide a 24-hour emergency service. The rota is currently one week in four, although this may vary depending on business requirements.
- Represent Metro Rod Cambridge professionally at all times.

Experience and Skills
- Good problem-solving skills with sound technical ability.
- Positive, reliable and flexible approach to work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to participate in the on-call rota and work overtime when required.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Previous drainage experience is preferred but not essential, as full training will be provided for the right candidate.
Pay: £28,500.00-£33,800.00 per year
