Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Dog Walker / Van Driver to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care and exercise for dogs while ensuring their safety and well-being. This position requires a love for dogs, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Time management is also key.
Responsibilities
- Walk dogs in various weather conditions, ensuring they receive adequate exercise and stimulation.
- Maintain control of dogs at all times, ensuring their safety and the safety of others.
- Provide basic care such as feeding, administering medication if required, and ensuring access to fresh water.
- Communicate with management regarding the dog’s behaviour and any concerns that may arise during walks.
- Clean up after dogs during walks to maintain a tidy environment on walks and at base
- Report any unusual behaviour or health issues to management promptly.
- Manage heavy lifting when necessary, such as assisting with larger breeds or carrying supplies.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in working with dogs is an advantage but not a necessity.
- Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with pet owners if needed .
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required for larger dog breeds or equipment.
- A genuine love for animals and a commitment to their well-being.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to work both independently and part of a team.
- A valid driver's licence is a necessity for travelling between clients' homes.
