AMETEK is seeking an experienced and commercially driven Divisional Vice President / Business Manager to lead the Muirhead Avionics Business Unit within our European MRO Division. This executive leadership role carries full responsibility for the overall performance, growth, and profitability of the business.
Reporting into the MRO Division leadership team, the successful candidate will define and execute the strategic vision of the business while ensuring operational excellence across all functions. The role is ideally suited to a proven business leader with strong P&L ownership, a track record of driving profitable growth, and experience leading complex aerospace, manufacturing, aftermarket, or industrial organisations.
The Divisional Vice President / Business Manager will play a critical role in advancing AMETEK's growth strategy through continuous improvement, product innovation, market expansion, and strategic acquisitions while building a high-performing team capable of delivering sustained long-term success.

- Lead the overall strategic direction and execution of the Muirhead MRO Business Unit.
- Develop and implement short and long-term business plans aligned with AMETEK's growth objectives.
- Drive sustainable growth through operational excellence, customer focus, market expansion, innovation, and acquisition opportunities.
- Balance day-to-day operational leadership with long-term strategic planning and investment decisions.
- Assume full P&L responsibility for the business unit, ensuring delivery of revenue, profitability, cash flow, and working capital objectives.
- Establish and monitor key business performance indicators and implement actions to drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure accurate forecasting, budgeting, financial planning, and performance management across the organisation.
- Identify opportunities to improve margins, reduce costs, and optimise resource allocation.
- Lead all operational functions, including Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, Customer Service, Aftermarket, Finance, Human Resources, and EHS.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing and service operations using Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, Kanban, and SIOP methodologies.
- Improve operational metrics including productivity, quality, on-time delivery, inventory management, and customer satisfaction.
- Foster a culture of accountability, safety, quality, and operational discipline throughout the organisation.
- Partner with customers and stakeholders to identify new business opportunities and strengthen market position.
- Support product and service development through effective market analysis, customer engagement, and strategic investment.
- Drive business growth through new products, expanded market penetration, global opportunities, and acquisition initiatives.
- Evaluate and execute strategic opportunities that strengthen the competitive position of the business.

- Critically assess AI-generated outputs and ensure responsible implementation aligned with business objectives.
- Undertake other duties and projects as required to support the needs of the business and broader division.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Operations Management, or a related discipline.
- Significant leadership experience managing a business unit, division, or operational organisation with full P&L responsibility.
- Proven success leading cross-functional teams within aerospace, aviation MRO, manufacturing, industrial technology, engineering, or related sectors.
- Strong financial acumen with demonstrated success delivering revenue growth and profitability improvement.
- Experience driving operational excellence initiatives and continuous improvement programmes.
- Track record of delivering strategic growth through organic expansion, new products, market development, or acquisitions.
- Excellent leadership, communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-making, work quality, and to reduce costs. The successful candidate must be able to identify appropriate AI use cases and critically evaluate AI-generated outputs.
- MBA or advanced business qualification.
- Aerospace, defence, aviation aftermarket, or MRO industry experience.
- Lean Six Sigma certification or equivalent operational excellence credentials.
- Experience leading international or global teams.
