We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Needs Teacher to join our educational team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting children with diverse learning needs in KS3 and KS4. fostering an inclusive environment that promotes growth, development, and confidence. Duties
- Develop and implement tailored lesson plans that accommodate individual learning styles and needs, including areas such as speech therapy, maths, and physical education.
- Deliver engaging lessons across various subjects, utilising specialised techniques in early childhood education and special education.
- Support children with behavioural management strategies to promote positive behaviour and social skills.
- Provide tutoring and mentoring to enhance academic progress, including proofreading and applied behaviour analysis techniques.
- Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams to monitor progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
- Assist with childcare responsibilities during school hours, including toddler care and preschool activities.
- Incorporate communication skills training into daily routines to foster effective interaction among children with diverse abilities.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, behaviour, and customised educational plans.
Requirements
- Plan, deliver, and adapt learning in line with long-term planning, creating tailored short- and medium-term plans and evidencing progress for moderation.
- Work collaboratively with the Learning Lead, meeting regularly, maintaining accurate registers and records, and ensuring all learning outcomes are tracked.
- Support young people holistically by using structured teaching approaches, implementing This Is Me plans, leading a tutor group, maintaining stakeholder communication, and ensuring safeguarding and health needs are met.
- Facilitate meaningful experiences by providing lunch cover when needed and building relationships with workplace partners to create work experience opportunities.
- Maintain a safe, well-resourced environment through effective risk assessment, monthly monitoring, and ordering resources within budget.
- Lead and support colleagues by line-managing an Education Autism Practitioner, modelling best practice, mentoring others, supporting staff induction, and contributing to positive team morale while completing additional duties aligned with the schools values.
Must hold QTS or be close to achieveing one through another avenue to gain QTS route.
Pay:
Teacher Pay scale including SEN allowance
Pay: £35,000.00-£56,000.00 per year
