Role Outline:
We are seeking an experienced and proactive HR Advisor to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys building strong working relationships, providing expert HR advice, and supporting managers and employees throughout the full employee lifecycle.
Working Hours:
Monday to Friday, 09:00am-17:00pm (37.5 hours per week)
Salary:
£26,000 to £29,000 per annum
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Provide first line HR advice and guidance to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures and UK employment legislation.
- Independently manage Employee Relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, absence management, probation, capability and performance matters.
- Support managers throughout formal HR processes, ensuring compliance with Company procedures and employment legislation.
- Conduct investigation, disciplinary, grievance and capability meetings where appropriate.
- Draft professional HR correspondence, including invitations, outcome letters and employment documentation.
- Assist in the development, implementation and review of HR policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate HR records and ensure compliance with GDPR and data protection requirements.
- Produce HR reports, analyse trends and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor and report on HR KPIs.
- Support probation reviews and performance management processes.
- Manage family-related matters including maternity, paternity, adoption and shared parental leave.
- Manage sickness absence cases and Occupational Health referrals where required.
- Monitor and audit health surveillance requirements.
- Support recruitment activities, onboarding and induction programmes.
- Take ownership of HR administration for designated business areas.
- Lead and support HR projects including employee engagement, wellbeing initiatives and continuous improvement across the business.
- Promote best practice and continuous improvement throughout the organisation.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum of two years' experience working as an HR Advisor HR generalist role.
- Experience independently managing Employee Relations cases from start to finish.
- Good working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
- Experience advising managers on HR policies, procedures and employment legislation.
- Experience preparing HR documentation and formal correspondence.
- CIPD Level 3 or 5 qualification or currently studying towards CIPD qualifications.
- Excellent written English with strong attention to detail and proofreading skills.
- Excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and experience using HR systems.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities whilst working accurately to deadlines.
- Professional, approachable and confident when dealing with sensitive and confidential matters.
Desirable
- Associate CIPD membership.
- Experience working within a manufacturing, logistics or operational environment.
- Experience using HR information systems.
- Experience supporting organisational change or HR project work.
