We are seeking a HR Business Partner (Operations) to join our team. This role is responsible for overseeing and delivering all day-to-day HR operational activities across the business, ensuring an efficient, compliant and employee-focused HR service. The role acts as a trusted partner to managers and employees, providing expert guidance on employee relations, employment legislation, policy development, compliance obligations and organisational change initiatives.
The position will lead the continuous improvement of HR processes, policies and systems while supporting international business operations to ensure compliance with local employment legislation and company standards across multiple jurisdictions.
Core Duties & Responsibilities
· Oversee and support all HR operational activities and BAU HR processes across the employee lifecycle.
· Manage the effective administration of employee lifecycle activities, including onboarding, contractual changes, absence management and offboarding.
· Continuously review and improve HR service delivery, systems, processes and operational effectiveness.
· Maintain accurate employee records and ensure compliance with data protection legislation and company requirements.
· Work closely with and build relationships with internal stakeholders across the business and the wider HR team to ensure the integrity, accuracy and effective management of HR data and change management programmes.
· Manage, oversee and support employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence and performance management processes.
· Provide practical, commercially focused and legally compliant advice and feedback to managers and employees on employee relations issues.
· Minimise organisational risk and escalation through proactive case management and timely HR intervention.
· Support conflict resolution and initiatives that promote positive employee relations, employee engagement and a strong workplace culture.
· Create, review and maintain HR policies, procedures, processes, templates etc employee handbooks and supporting documentation, ensuring legal compliance.
· Support compliance with local labour laws, statutory requirements, employment regulations and company standards across multiple regions, providing advice and guidance on international employment matters including cross-border employee issues, cultural considerations and global mobility requirements.
· Liaise with external legal advisers and specialist providers as required.
· Support and conduct internal and external compliance reviews and implement any resulting recommendations e.g. periodic HR practices, documentation and records, Payroll, HMRC, ISO.
· Lead and support HR projects aimed at enhancing operational effectiveness, employee experience, compliance and business performance.
· Support organisational change programmes, restructures, acquisitions, integrations and business transformation projects.
· Analyse HR data, metrics and trends to identify risks, opportunities and continuous improvement initiatives.
· Support the implementation, optimisation and ongoing enhancement of HR technology and systems.
· Coach and support managers on people management best practice, policy application and employment legislation, facilitating training where required.
· Proactively provide regular updates, reports and insights to the Head of HR, escalating risks and significant issues where appropriate.
· Ensure decision-making is consistent, fair, commercially sound and aligned with company values, policies and legal obligations.
· Represent the business, upholding our core values and behaviours with all internal and external customers, clients and third parties.
· Maintain business and client confidentiality, adhering to applicable Data Protection regulations and Information Security Standards in line with company, and group policies and procedures.
Qualifications: Skills and Experience
· Proven experience as an HR Business Partner, Senior ER Specialist, Generalist or HR Manager in a complex, fast-paced environment
· Excellent knowledge of employment law and employee relations practices and ability to manage independently.
· Understanding of global compliance and employment frameworks (desirable).
· Excellent stakeholder management and the ability to influence at senior levels.
· High emotional intelligence, integrity, resilience, and sound judgement
· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
· High levels of discretion and confidentiality.
· Excellent communication and organisational skills.
· Proficiency in HRIS and Microsoft Office applications, SharePoint and automation desirable.
· Ideally CIPD Level 5 or equivalent qualification/experience.
