Overview
We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Catering Manager (Term-time) to lead our school catering services and work with our existing Catering Manager as they step towards retirement. This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage food preparation, oversee kitchen operations, and supervise a dynamic team during the school term. Your leadership will ensure that children, young people and staff enjoy nutritious, delicious meals in a welcoming environment while maintaining high standards of food safety and hospitality.
Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and cook a variety of nutritious meals tailored to the needs of pupils and staff.
- Supervise daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficient food production and service.
- Lead, motivate, and manage a team of catering staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards across all catering activities.
- Oversee inventory management, ordering supplies, and controlling food costs effectively.
- Ensure all catering activities align with health and safety policies and best practices in hospitality.
- Support the delivery of excellent customer service by serving meals with professionalism and warmth.
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or culinary roles within hospitality, restaurant, or hotel environments.
- Supervising experience with team management skills to lead a diverse catering team confidently.
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and food production processes.
- Experience in managing kitchen operations, including inventory control and food service logistics.
- Excellent leadership qualities combined with the ability to motivate staff and foster teamwork.
- Familiarity with serving in educational or similar settings is desirable but not essential.
- Barista experience or hospitality background is a plus, demonstrating versatility in food service roles.

Pay: £27,536.00-£30,873.00 per year
