Junior Merchandiser
Outdoor Fascias
Reporting to: Senior Merchandiser
Operating Ratio: 20/80 Current / Future
Key Objective: To lead the team to deliver Sales, Markdown, Stock, Intake and Profit Plans
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the Merchandise Assistant and Assistant Merchandiser.
- Responsibility for the deparmtnental WSSI.
- Manage Intake at category and line level in conjunction with the team.
- Plan seasonal launch in conjuction with the Buyer, Marketing, Retail and VM.
- Review weekly trading performance and achieved KPI’s, identifying issues and the course of action in preparation to present in the weekly trading meeting.
- Propose and agree actions to recover risk and maximise opportunities with the Merchandiser and Buyer at category, brand and line level.
- Attend monthly WSSI meetings with your Merchandiser to sign off:
- Forecasting any sales and stock variance to plan
- OTB’s
- Management of commitments – On time delivery, rebuys cancellations
- Markdown proposals
- Manage the range plan in season reflecting any changes.
- Assist in the building of the visual layouts with the Buyer and VM.
- Manage the order books both in season and preseason to ensure that the most accurate information is always in the system.
- Manage the stock seasonality.
- Develop awareness of product area through store visits and by reviewing the sales analysis.
- Ad-hoc reports and analysis for as required.
Planning
- Creation of the departmental strategy in conjunction with the Senior Merchandiser/Buyer.
- Review previous seasons and produce SWOT Analysis with supporting information.
- Create category level product mix using history, SWOT and SLT Plan.
- With Senior Merchandiser formulate the space and option count.
- Build the seasonal financial and buy plan in conjunction with the Senior Merchandiser and Buyer.
- Ensure that the WSSI is updated with the buy plan and the KPI’s are signed off with the Senior merchandiser.
- Attend key selection meetings with the Senior merchandiser and Buyer.
- Overview the linecards with Assistant merchandiser
- Ensure that the buy matches the buy plan.
- Establish working relationships with supplier base.
Teamwork
- Reporting to the Senior Merchandiser.
- Work with the Senior Merchandiser and Buyer to deliver the plan.
- Guide and direct the Merchandising Team to help deliver the plan.
- With the Senior Merchandiser provide and monitor development plans for the Asst Merch / Merch Asst on a regular basis.
- Communicate to the Retail Team anything that will impact on Stores performance.
- Establish working relationships with Store Operations, Visuals, Marketing.
Key Deliverables – Year 1
- Attend all systems courses to enable full utilisation of the System
- Adhere to the Merchandise Calendar delivery plans and forecasts as required
- Achieve company Sales, Margins and stock plans
