About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RGN/RMN) to join our team at Ferndown Nursing Home. This is a rewarding opportunity for a nurse who is passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centred care and leading a team in a supportive and professional environment.
As a Registered Nurse, you will play a key role in ensuring our residents receive the highest standards of clinical care while maintaining their dignity, independence and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Care & Leadership
- Deliver and oversee high standards of nursing care in line with care plans
- Lead and support a team of care staff during shifts
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate resident care needs
- Monitor residents’ health and respond to any changes appropriately
- Administer medications safely in line with NMC and CQC guidelines
- Act as a role model, promoting best practice and professional standards
Resident-Focused Care
- Promote dignity, independence, choice and safety at all times
- Build positive relationships with residents, families and external professionals
- Act as an advocate for residents to ensure the best outcomes
- Support a stimulating and homely environment for residents
Communication & Collaboration
- Work closely with GPs, pharmacists, district nurses and other healthcare professionals
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date care records
- Ensure effective communication across the care team
Management & Support
- Allocate duties and supervise care staff on shift
- Support training, mentoring and development of care staff
- Assist in maintaining safe staffing levels and smooth running of the home
- Take charge of the home in the absence of senior management when required
Clinical Governance & Compliance
- Adhere to the NMC Code of Conduct and all company policies
- Ensure safe handling and administration of medications, including controlled drugs
- Participate in audits, quality improvement and compliance processes
- Maintain professional registration and continuous development
