We’re looking for a reliable, enthusiastic and hardworking Warehouse Operative to join our growing team.
This is a varied, hands-on role where you’ll be involved in the day-to-day running of our warehouse — from receiving and storing incoming deliveries and maintaining accurate stock levels to keeping the warehouse organised and supporting order picking and packing when required.
You don’t need to know everything from day one. Most of what you’ll be doing can be taught on the job. What we’re really looking for is the right person — someone with a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, good attention to detail and a willingness to get stuck in and learn.
If you’re organised, practical and enjoy working as part of a busy team where every day brings something different, we’d love to hear from you.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Receiving, unloading, inspecting and safely storing incoming deliveries, reporting any discrepancies or damage.
- Unloading containers efficiently and within the allocated two-hour delivery slot.
- Organising and storing stock safely and efficiently, ensuring all products are kept in the correct locations.
- Rotating stock to ensure older stock is used first.
- Ensuring all stock is correctly located and that Bond Numbers remain on cartons for checking by HMRC where required.
- Conducting regular stocktakes and stock counts to maintain accurate inventory records.
- Picking, packing and preparing customer orders for dispatch when required, particularly during busy periods.
- Locating and providing stock to Shop Sales staff for customers purchasing products in the shop.
- Operating warehouse equipment, including forklifts and pump trucks, safely and responsibly. Training will be provided where required.
- Using simple spreadsheets and computer systems, including email, to support day-to-day warehouse operations.
- Keeping the warehouse clean, organised and tidy while ensuring health and safety standards are maintained.
- Working closely with other departments to ensure smooth day-to-day operations and good customer service.
- Identifying opportunities to improve warehouse processes and contribute to greater efficiency.
- Supporting colleagues across the business as required.
What We’re Looking For
We’re much more interested in who you are and how you work than having a long list of qualifications or experience.
You’ll need:
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Reliability and a willingness to get stuck in.
- Good attention to detail and pride in doing a job properly.
- The ability to work as part of a team and independently when needed.
- Good communication skills.
- The ability to safely carry out physical work and manual handling.
- Basic computer skills and confidence using email and simple spreadsheets.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to keep stock and work areas tidy.
- A willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.
- A commitment to following health and safety procedures.
Previous warehouse, stock control or logistics experience is useful, but not essential. A forklift licence is desirable but not essential, as training can be provided.
Pay: £26,500.00-£28,000.00 per year
Benefits:
- Free parking
- On-site parking
