The Assemblies Ltd is an established small group of ethical bars & restaurants based around the city centre. We are looking to hire a Finance Assistant to join our head office team and be an instrumental part in the delivery of our monthly accounts & payroll. The successful candidate will have an enthusiastic and hard working approach and be able to work well within a team.
The role will be on a initial 6 Month fixed term contract, is full time Monday to Friday and paid between £26,000 to £30,000, depending on experience.
Main Roles & Responsibilities:
- Purchase Ledger - Entering supplier invoices, reconciling supplier accounts, dealing with account queries and processing a fortnightly payment run.
- Bank Reconciliations - Reconciling the main bank accounts on a weekly basis along with a monthly reconciliation of the company credit cards.
- Sales Entry - Entering all sales from the venues, in house and online, along with weekly reconciliations of card payments, cash banking and petty cash.
- Payroll - Completing our monthly payroll. Updating hours worked, holidays, starters, leavers , pensions & entering payroll journals.
- Sales Ledger - Creating invoices for a handful of customers.
Additional Smaller Tasks:
- KPI Production - Created weekly to manage and monitor performance in venues.
- HR Admin - Assist with sending out starter forms, contracts & training.
- Credit Control - chasing outstanding debts, if any.
- General Office Administration - Filing all accounts correspondence, ordering office supplies.
- Assisting the Finance Director with any additional Month End tasks and reconciling and maintaining general ledgers.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
- Previous experience preferable, however full training will be provided.
- Experience in the use of Microsoft Office & Google Drive would be beneficial. Particularly Excel, Google Sheets & Gmail.
- Prior experience using Xero or other accounting software.
- High attention to detail combined with prompt task completion.
- Good communication skills, verbal and written.
- Able to multitask and deal with a busy office environment.
- Excellent organisation skills.
- AAT qualified or part qualified welcome.
