WELLBEING ACTIVITY WORKER
Location: St David’s Hospital, Cardiff, and other hospital settings as required
Salary: £22,729.79 per annum
(£13.45 per hour)
Permanent Contract
Hours: 32.5 hours per week
We are seeking a compassionate, creative and motivated Wellbeing Activity Worker to provide practical and therapeutic support to patients through meaningful activities and one-to-one befriending.
Working alongside the Wellbeing Activity Manager, you will plan and deliver engaging activities that promote wellbeing, independence and social connection.
You will respond to patients’ changing needs and interests, encourage participation and provide appropriate information and signposting to patients, families and carers.
You will develop positive relationships with patients, facilitate social interaction, recognise and report potential risks and contribute to monitoring and developing the service.
We are looking for someone with good communication and listening skills who can work independently and as part of a team. You should understand the importance of dignity, confidentiality, professional boundaries and person-centred support.
Experience of using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook is essential. Experience of working in a hospital, health, social care or supportive setting, particularly with people who are cognitively impaired or living with mental health conditions or learning disabilities, would be advantageous.
You must be willing to work flexibly and travel to other hospital settings or venues when required.
