About Us
Steve Doran Property Limited is a fast-scaling property education and investment business. Led by Steve Doran, who brings over 18 years of property investment experience, we've trained more than 40,000 investors and helped thousands of ordinary people build wealth through property. Our work spans live training events, coaching and mentoring, deal sourcing, HMO lettings and a growing property portfolio. As we continue to grow, we're looking for a commercially minded Finance Manager to take ownership of our finance function and give the business the financial clarity and control it needs to scale with confidence.
The Role
Reporting directly to the director, the Finance Manager will own the day-to-day running of the finance function across all of our business streams. This is a hands-on role for someone who is equally comfortable in the detail of the ledgers and in the boardroom presenting management accounts. You'll bring structure, accuracy and insight to a dynamic, entrepreneurial business.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the day-to-day finance function across the group's business streams (property education and events, coaching, deal sourcing, HMO lettings and the property portfolio)
- Prepare accurate monthly management accounts, including profit & loss, balance sheet and cash flow statements
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes and report to the director
- Manage cash flow forecasting and monitor the daily cash position across all entities
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable and credit control
- Reconcile revenue across payment platforms (e.g. ThriveCart, ScoreApp) and event/ticket sales
- Oversee payroll, pension contributions and associated HMRC submissions
- Prepare and submit VAT returns and support corporation tax compliance
- Liaise with external accountants, auditors, banks, lenders and HMRC
- Track profitability by business unit and revenue stream, and report insights clearly
- Develop budgets, financial plans and forecasts to support strategic growth
- Design, implement and continuously improve financial controls, processes and systems
- Provide support across wider business initiatives as required, demonstrating flexibility to meet evolving business needs
About You

- Experience managing the full finance function, from bookkeeping through to reporting
- Confident with accounting software (e.g. Xero, Sage or QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills
- Excellent attention to detail and a high standard of accuracy
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders
- Self-motivated and comfortable working autonomously in a fast-paced, growing business
Desirable
- Experience within property, lettings or a multi-entity / group environment
- Exposure to online / e-commerce revenue platforms and digital payment reconciliation
- Experience improving financial systems, controls and processes in a scaling SME
What We Offer
