We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Wills and Probate Fee Earner to join our dynamic legal team. Responsibilities
- Manage a comprehensive caseload of wills, probate, estate administration, and related legal matters from inception to completion
- Draft and review legal documents including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and estate planning instruments with precision and clarity
- Conduct detailed legal research using tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw to support case strategies and ensure compliance with current laws
- Advise clients on estate planning options, including tax implications and asset protection strategies
- Negotiate with beneficiaries, executors, trustees, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth estate settlements
- Assist with court proceedings related to probate applications, estate disputes, and administration processes
- Maintain meticulous case records, prepare reports, and ensure all deadlines are met in accordance with legal standards
Experience
- Proven experience as a Wills and Probate Fee Earner or in a similar estate planning or probate role within a law office setting
- Strong knowledge of estate planning laws, probate procedures, and related areas such as family law, landlord-tenant law, securities law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, tribal law & regulations, litigation, patent law, environmental law, immigration law, and LexisNexis research tools
- Demonstrated ability to draft clear legal documents and conduct comprehensive legal research using Westlaw or similar platforms
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to manage complex client relationships effectively
- Prior experience handling legal administrative tasks efficiently while maintaining high accuracy standards
- Strong writing skills combined with the ability to interpret complex legal concepts for clients and colleagues alike
