Accounts Manager
We are looking for an experienced Accounts Manager to take full responsibility for the day-to-day finance function across our automotive and property businesses.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys taking ownership and can work independently. You'll be responsible for everything from daily bookkeeping through to preparing VAT returns and annual accounts, ensuring our financial records remain accurate and up to date.
Key Responsibilities
- Day-to-day bookkeeping using Xero
- Bank, credit card and finance reconciliations
- Purchase and sales ledger management
- Processing supplier invoices and payments
- Credit control where required
- Payroll and pension administration
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns
- Preparing annual accounts for multiple companies
- Managing intercompany transactions
- Maintaining fixed asset registers
- Producing monthly management accounts and reports
- Liaising with HMRC, external accountants and auditors when required
- Maintaining accurate digital financial records
- Assisting with improving financial processes and controls
About You
You will have previous experience managing the finance function within a small or medium-sized business and be comfortable working independently.
Ideally you will have experience with:
- Xero
- Payroll
- VAT returns
- Preparation of annual accounts
- Management accounts
- Multi-company bookkeeping
- Strong Excel skills
- Excellent attention to detail
Desirable
- AAT qualified or studying ACCA/CIMA (or equivalent)
- Experience within the motor trade
- Knowledge of the VAT Margin Scheme
- Experience with property businesses

We're looking for someone who takes pride in keeping accurate records, enjoys solving problems, and can confidently manage the accounts function with minimal supervision. You'll work closely with the directors and play an important role in ensuring the business operates efficiently and remains fully compliant.
Technology & AI
We believe modern technology should be used to improve efficiency, accuracy and productivity. We're looking for someone who is comfortable using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude or similar to assist with research, analysing data, checking formulas, improving processes and automating repetitive tasks.
You don't need to be an AI expert, but you should be curious, willing to learn, and happy to embrace new technology where it can genuinely improve the way you work.

Pay: From £30,000.00 per year
