Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Motor Vehicle Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles, ensuring optimal performance and safety. Duties
- Conduct diagnostics using schematics and technical manuals to identify faults in motor vehicles.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on various vehicle systems, including engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, and electrical components.
- Utilise hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to disassemble, repair, and reassemble vehicle parts efficiently.
- Assist with assembly tasks during vehicle repairs or modifications as required.
- Execute welding tasks to repair or modify vehicle components where necessary.
- Carry out routine maintenance such as oil changes, clutch replacements, cambelt replacements and fluid replacements to ensure vehicle longevity.
- Repair or replace damaged parts using appropriate equipment and techniques while adhering to safety standards.
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repair procedures and maintenance recommendations clearly to clients.
- Handle heavy lifting safely when manoeuvring vehicle parts or components during repairs.
- Maintain detailed records of repairs performed and parts utilised for each vehicle serviced.
Requirements
- Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in automotive repair or related fields. level 2 or Level 3
- Familiarity with schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools used in vehicle maintenance.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding and other specialised automotive repair tools.
- Ability to interpret technical diagrams and assembly instructions accurately.
- Strong understanding of vehicle systems including electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic components.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in documentation and repair procedures.
- Physical capability for heavy lifting and working in various positions including bending or kneeling for extended periods.
- Good customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients about repairs and maintenance needs.
- Willingness to undertake ongoing training to stay current with technological advancements in automotive repair.

Pay: £26,181.66-£47,286.52 per year
