The Role
We are seeking an experienced Fabrication Supervisor to join our team. This is a hands-on supervisory role with responsibility for fabrication, welding, workshop operations and site activities, alongside supporting management with procurement and general office tasks.
The successful candidate will have proven experience in a fabrication/welding or manufacturing environment, ideally with previous supervisory or management responsibility. You will be responsible for coordinating day-to-day workshop activities, allocating labour, monitoring progress and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, to the required quality standard and within agreed deadlines.
Key Requirements
- Proven experience in a fabrication/welding workshop or manufacturing environment, with previous supervisory or management responsibility.
- Strong working knowledge of welding processes, procedures and quality standards.
- Ability to read and interpret technical/fabrication drawings.
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety within a manufacturing/workshop environment and the ability to enforce safe systems of work.
- Strong leadership, organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise work and meet demanding deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the confidence to communicate effectively with workshop operatives, management, clients and wider personnel.
- Ability to plan and coordinate labour, materials and production priorities to ensure projects remain on schedule.
- Good basic IT skills and the ability to assist with procurement and general office/management tasks.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel for occasional site work as required.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate day-to-day workshop operations, ensuring labour is planned and work is allocated effectively to meet production schedules and delivery deadlines.
- Convert orders into clear job handovers and production priorities, ensuring the workshop team understands the required scope, sequence and deadlines.
- Monitor staff output and job progress against programmes, allowed hours, delivery dates and customer requirements, taking appropriate action where progress is falling behind.
- Oversee and coordinate cutting, drilling, fabrication, welding, painting, galvanising, yard operations, loading and transport.
- Provide technical knowledge, guidance and intervention to ensure fabrication and welding work is completed to the required quality standards.
- Review jobs in advance and identify missing materials, drawings, approvals, specifications or other information that could delay production.
- Help reduce avoidable re-work, omissions, incomplete loads and delivery failures through effective planning and communication.
- Coordinate with management, workshop staff, clients and suppliers to support effective project delivery.
- Ensure safe working practices and company Health & Safety procedures are consistently followed across workshop, yard and site activities.
- Assist with material and sundry procurement, stock control and general materials management, ensuring requirements are identified in good time.
- Undertake occasional site work and travel as required.
- Support management with general operational and administrative tasks where required.
- Contribute positively to the development of the workshop team, processes and wider business.
