Direct Line Staff: Kitchen Supervisors & Kitchen Staff
Hours: 37.5 per week

To support the Kitchen Manager and together lead the kitchen team to deliver a unique food offer from The “Stroud Brewery Kitchen”
About the kitchen
The kitchen at Stroud Brewery is centred around the wood fired oven and the grill. We focus on using local and/or organic ingredients wherever possible. We have an all day menu with brunch and lunch dishes, grill and pizzas plus regular specials. We also cater for a range of events and have a dedicated following of regulars.
Main responsibilities
Working well in a high paced environment under pressure you will also lead the team to make sure that they deliver a high quality but personable service to all areas whilst minimising any waiting times.
- Control and direct food preparation and related activities
- Together with chefs continually develop our menu
- Cost food items and maintain required kitchen GP%
- Identify suppliers and ensure regular supply of stock
- Identify stock losses and help to rectify these
- Oversee/ensure monthly stocktake
- Lead the team on peak shifts to deliver optimum customer satisfaction
- Hiring, managing and training kitchen staff
- Manage staffing rota and ensure optimum cover for all service times
- Authorise team holidays
- Approve timesheets
- Complete regular 1:1 meetings
- Ensure great customer service
- Ensure health and safety in the kitchen
- Ensure food hygiene regulations are met
- Coach the team to reduce wait times on peak and off peak shifts
- Identify revenue growth opportunities and support to implement these
Person Specification
Proven ability to lead and inspire a team, fostering a positive work environment and promoting teamwork. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with customers, staff, and suppliers.
Strong organisational and time management abilities to handle multiple tasks and prioritise effectively. Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick decisions under pressure.
Essential
A passionate chef who has experience with cooking in pizza ovens / over wood
- Management experience
- Financial management
- Basic computer competence (e-mail, spreadsheets, word-processing)
- Knowledge of small independent business
- Training others - formal and informal
