General Warehouse Operative – Gym Equipment Preparation & Repairs

UZED is a leading lifecycle partner for commercial gym equipment. We buy, move, prepare, repair and resell used equipment across the UK and Europe.
We are looking for a reliable, hands-on Warehouse Operative to join our team. This is not a light picking-and-packing role: you will be working with large commercial gym equipment, helping to prepare machines to a high standard before they are supplied to customers.
The work is physical, practical and varied. It can be cold in the warehouse during winter, and some days involve heavy lifting, loading, cleaning and repair work. We use the correct equipment, team-lifting methods and safe-working procedures, but applicants must be comfortable with a demanding, active role.
What you’ll be doing
- Cleaning and detailing commercial gym equipment to a high standard
- Carrying out touch-up painting and cosmetic preparation
- Assisting with servicing, basic repairs and fault-finding on gym equipment
- Loading and unloading deliveries safely
- Moving, storing and organising heavy equipment using pallet trucks, skates, forklifts and other suitable equipment
- Picking, packing and preparing machines and parts for dispatch
- Checking incoming equipment against paperwork and reporting damage or missing items
- Keeping the warehouse, workshop and storage areas clean, organised and safe
- Supporting stock checks and updating warehouse records where required
- Helping with occasional equipment preparation, assembly and disassembly work
What we’re looking for
- A full UK driving licence is required
- Comfortable with physically demanding work, including regular manual handling and heavy lifting carried out safely
- Practical and mechanically minded, with confidence using hand tools
- Experience in a warehouse, workshop, vehicle preparation, engineering, removals or similar hands-on role is useful
- An interest in repairing, servicing or preparing gym equipment is an advantage
- Forklift experience or certification is beneficial, but not essential
- Reliable, punctual and willing to work as part of a team
- Good attention to detail and pride in producing quality work
- A positive attitude to safety, cleanliness and getting the job finished properly
