About The Role
As a Tooling Procurement Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting successful product launches by sourcing, procuring, and managing tooling and associated equipment across the business. Working at the heart of our new product introduction activities, you will ensure tooling requirements are delivered on time, to specification, and at the best overall value.
This is a highly visible position with significant influence over tooling spend, supplier selection, and project delivery. You'll collaborate closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Commercial, and Programme teams, using your commercial expertise to drive value, support operational excellence, and contribute directly to business performance.
Key Responsibilities
You will lead sourcing activities for tooling, fixtures, jigs, gauges, and related equipment, managing supplier selection, quotations, negotiations, and contract discussions to achieve the best commercial outcomes. You will build strong relationships with suppliers, monitor performance against quality, cost, delivery, and service expectations, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Working as part of cross-functional project teams, you will support new product launches by ensuring tooling requirements are identified and delivered to project timelines. Alongside day-to-day procurement activities, you will contribute to budget management, spend analysis, procurement strategy development, process improvement initiatives, and supplier risk management while providing clear updates and expert guidance to stakeholders across the business
About You
You'll bring experience of working in a commercial procurement environment with responsibility for complex tooling requirements and supplier management. A confident negotiator with strong commercial awareness, you'll be comfortable influencing stakeholders and building productive relationships both internally and externally. You will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, be highly organised, and enjoy managing multiple priorities within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Experience supporting New Product Introduction projects, knowledge of manufacturing processes, strategic sourcing approaches, or tooling cost management systems would be advantageous. Most importantly, you'll be proactive, results-focused, and motivated by delivering continuous improvement and measurable business value.
