Role Overview
The Marketing Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing the company’s marketing strategy to increase customer acquisition, improve customer retention, strengthen brand awareness, and support the successful launch of Gaines Foods’ own branded product range.
The successful candidate will work closely with senior management to identify market opportunities, manage marketing campaigns, analyse business performance, and ensure all marketing activities contribute to measurable commercial growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy aligned with the company’s commercial objectives.
- Lead digital marketing campaigns across the company website, TikTok, Instagram, email marketing, and other online platforms.
- Plan and manage promotional campaigns to increase online and in-store sales.
- Conduct market research to identify customer trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities within the grocery retail sector.
- Analyse marketing performance using data and analytics, producing reports with recommendations for improving return on investment.
- Develop customer acquisition and retention strategies to increase repeat purchases and customer loyalty.
- Manage the company’s marketing budget and allocate resources effectively.
- Coordinate branding initiatives to strengthen the Gaines Foods brand across all customer touchpoints.
- Lead the marketing strategy for the launch and promotion of Gaines Foods’ own branded product range.
- Collaborate with suppliers, designers, photographers, and external agencies to produce marketing materials and product packaging.
- Optimise website content and product listings to improve search visibility, online conversions, and customer experience.
- Oversee social media strategy, ensuring consistent engagement, audience growth, and effective advertising campaigns.
- Monitor key marketing performance indicators (KPIs) and adjust campaigns based on business performance.
- Build partnerships with local organisations, community groups, influencers, and relevant stakeholders to increase brand visibility.
- Ensure all marketing activities comply with relevant UK advertising, consumer protection, and data protection regulations.
- Support the senior management team by providing strategic marketing advice to support business expansion.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Marketing Manager or similar strategic marketing role.
- Degree or equivalent professional qualification in Marketing, Business, Digital Marketing, Communications, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrable experience developing and delivering successful marketing strategies.
- Strong knowledge of digital marketing, social media marketing, SEO, email marketing, and online advertising.
- Experience using marketing analytics tools to measure campaign performance and customer behaviour.
- Excellent commercial awareness and ability to translate data into business decisions.
- Strong leadership, organisational, project management, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
Desirable Skills
- Experience within retail, grocery, FMCG, food distribution, or e-commerce businesses.
- Experience managing product launches and brand development.
- Knowledge of multicultural consumer markets within the UK.
- Experience working with Shopify or other e-commerce platforms.
- Familiarity with Google Analytics, Meta Ads Manager, TikTok Ads Manager, and CRM systems.

Pay: £35,700.00-£39,900.00 per year
