Night Porter – Job Description
Live-in Accommodation Available
Hours: 6:00pm – 8:00am, when we have guests staying on site and during events
Salary: In the region of £25,000 per annum, depending on experience and whether live-in accommodation is required
We are looking for a reliable, responsible and friendly Night Porter to join our team, covering nights when we have guests staying on site and events taking place.
This is an important role within the venue, ensuring our guests are safe, comfortable and well looked after throughout the evening and overnight, while also ensuring the venue and accommodation remain safe and secure.
Key Responsibilities
- Be a visible and approachable point of contact for guests throughout the evening and overnight.
- Carry out regular security checks of the venue, guest accommodation and surrounding areas.
- Ensure doors, windows and access points are secure at the appropriate times.
- Assist guests with any reasonable requests, queries or issues.
- Respond calmly and professionally to any incidents, emergencies, noise or disturbances.
- Liaise with the event team during functions and take over responsibility as events come to an end.
- Look after guests returning to their accommodation and deal with any late-night issues appropriately.
- Monitor the venue and accommodation throughout the night.
- Ensure communal and public areas remain clean, tidy and presentable.
- Carry out light cleaning and practical duties where required.
- Assist with preparing areas for the following day's weddings or events where necessary.
- Follow all fire, health & safety and emergency procedures.
- Report any faults, damage, incidents or concerns to management.
- Provide a clear handover to the management/day team each morning.
Hours & Working Pattern
The hours for this position are 6:00pm – 8:00am.
Shifts are required when we have guests staying on site and when weddings or events are taking place, therefore the working pattern will vary in line with our events and accommodation calendar. This will include weekends, evenings and bank holidays.
Salary & Accommodation
The salary is in the region of £25,000 per annum, with the final package dependent on experience and whether live-in accommodation is required.

Previous experience within hospitality, hotels, wedding venues, security or night work would be beneficial, although full training will be provided to the right person.
Pay: From £25,420.00 per year
