Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Chef to support our culinary team in delivering exceptional dining experiences. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary knowledge, and a passion for food preparation and presentation. This role offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic hospitality environment, contributing to the creation of high-quality dishes while supervising kitchen operations and ensuring food safety standards are maintained. The Assistant Chef will play a vital part in supporting the Head Chef and managing kitchen staff to deliver efficient service.
The position is Wednesday to Sunday, 5 days a week, Wednesday to Saturday split shifts & Sunday a straight shift.
Own transport essential, must be living locally

Duties
- Assist in preparing, cooking, and presenting a variety of dishes in accordance with established recipes and standards.
- Supervise junior kitchen staff, providing guidance and training to ensure high-quality food production and adherence to safety protocols.
- Oversee food safety practices, including proper storage, handling, and sanitation procedures within the kitchen.
- Manage daily kitchen operations, including organising work schedules, delegating tasks, and monitoring performance to maintain efficiency.
- Support with inventory management by checking stock levels, placing orders, and receiving supplies as needed.
- Ensure all food preparation areas are clean, organised, and compliant with health regulations.
- Assist in menu planning and development alongside the culinary team.
- Maintain excellent communication with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service delivery.
- Participate in serving guests when required, ensuring a positive dining experience.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food production, cooking, or kitchen roles within a hospitality environment.
- Supervising experience or team management skills are highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced setting.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Good understanding of culinary techniques and food presentation principles.
- Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is preferred.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts as required by the establishment’s operational hours.

Pay: £12.21-£15.00 per hour
