Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Painter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for applying paint, varnishes, and other finishes to various surfaces in construction and renovation projects. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a keen eye for detail and a passion for craftsmanship to contribute to high-quality building finishes. The position involves working on diverse projects, ensuring surfaces are prepared correctly and finished to a professional standard. A valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate transportation between sites.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and priming to ensure optimal paint adhesion
- Apply paints, varnishes, stains, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment
- Follow project specifications and safety guidelines to achieve desired results
- Mix paints and colours accurately to match client requirements or project specifications
- Protect surrounding areas from overspray or drips using masking tape and coverings
- Maintain equipment by cleaning brushes, rollers, spray guns, and other tools after use
- Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively with clients or site managers regarding progress or issues
- Ensure work areas are kept tidy and safe throughout the project duration
Skills
- Proven experience in construction painting or related trade skills is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills in English for clear understanding of instructions and effective teamwork
- Valid driving licence is advantageous for travelling between different sites efficiently
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail to deliver high-quality finishes
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to painting activities
- Physical fitness to handle prolonged periods of standing, bending, and lifting equipment or materials
