We opened a brand-new café this February and are looking for a friendly, reliable, and enthusiastic Supervisor with Barista experience to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a new business, help shape the atmosphere, and grow with us as we develop and grow.
Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate, efficient, and experienced Café Supervisor with extensive barista knowledge to lead our team. The ideal candidate enjoys delivering exceptional customer service, creating high-quality beverages, and thriving in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
This role requires hands-on experience in café operations, staff training, and day-to-day supervising. The Café Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing service standards, supporting and developing team members, maintaining cleanliness and organisation, and helping to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for every customer.
The successful candidate will lead by example, demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills, and have a genuine passion for coffee, hospitality, and customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily running and operations of the café
- Lead, motivate, and train team members to maintain excellent service standards
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee, tea, and other hot and cold beverages to company standards
- Ensure consistency in beverage quality, presentation, and customer experience
- Provide friendly, attentive, and efficient customer service
- Take customer orders accurately and handle payments using the cash register
- Maintain cleanliness of the café, including coffee stations, equipment, utensils, seating areas, and back-of-house spaces
- Carry out regular cleaning down tasks throughout the day and at closing
- Assist with basic food preparation such as assembling snacks or light meals
- Restock supplies, manage stock rotation, and monitor stock levels
- Assist with ordering and inventory management where required
- Ensure all health, safety, and food hygiene regulations are followed at all times
- Handle customer feedback and resolve issues professionally and efficiently
- Manage time effectively during busy periods while maintaining quality and service standards
- Help create a positive, welcoming, and team-focused working environment
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a café supervisory role is essential
- Strong barista experience and knowledge of coffee-making techniques
- Experience training and supporting team members
- Understanding of café operations, stock management, and daily procedures
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
- Experience working in a customer-facing, fast-paced environment
- Ability to carry out cleaning and food preparation tasks efficiently
- Basic maths skills for handling cash, stock, and measurements
- Friendly, approachable attitude with excellent communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Passion for hospitality, coffee, and delivering outstanding customer experiences
