In this role, you'll work alongside a supportive team, helping to develop underwriting strategies, support our brokers, and deliver profitable growth. If you have a knack for detail, enjoy analysing market trends, and love working with data, this could be your next move.
Key responsibilities:
- Act as the go-to underwriting expert for our Financial Lines products, supporting the team with accurate and efficient underwriting support.
- Keep our underwriting guides and training materials up to date, delivering necessary updates to the team.
- Collaborate with claims and other teams to develop claims processes and ensure tracking of key metrics.
- Analyse portfolio performance monthly, making recommendations on risk selection, pricing, and product changes.
- Support pricing and product development efforts, ensuring our offerings are competitive and fit for purpose.
- Keep a close eye on market trends and competitor activity to spot opportunities or risks.
- Work with our brokers, panel, and software partners to develop tailored underwriting solutions.
- Assist the team in delivering consistent, profitable results across our portfolio.
Work arrangements:
At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least two days a week (40%) away from home, moving to three days a week (60%) in the future. Away from home means attending the office, visiting clients or attending industry events.
Your skills & experience:
- Several years’ experience in general insurance, with a focus on financial lines or similar products.
- Proven ability to analyse complex data and market trends.
- Strong understanding of underwriting, pricing, and claims processes.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships with internal teams and external brokers.
- Experience working with digital tools, portfolio analysis, and market intelligence.
- Organised, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with a variety of stakeholders.
- A professional qualification related to insurance (desirable but not essential).
- A good understanding of regulatory requirements and industry standards.
As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.
This position has been defined as an Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) role under the IDD regime which means that in addition to pre-employment screening checks, the successful candidate will be subject to background screening every 4 years with an annual declaration in interim years.
