We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Female Senior Support Worker to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about delivering outstanding care while supporting colleagues, maintaining high standards, and ensuring excellent outcomes for the people we support.
As a Senior Support Worker, you will combine hands-on care with leadership responsibilities, helping to mentor care staff, monitor service quality, and support the day-to-day delivery of safe, effective and person-centred care.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Senior Support Worker, you will:
- Deliver high-quality, person-centred care and support within clients' homes and the community.
- Act as a role model, providing guidance, mentoring and support to care staff.
- Carry out spot checks, staff observations and competency assessments.
- Complete care assessments, reviews and reassessments.
- Develop, review and update person-centred care plans and risk assessments.
- Monitor the quality of care provided and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Support medication administration and ensure safe medicines management in line with company policy and best practice.
- Liaise professionally with clients, families, healthcare professionals and external agencies.
- Maintain accurate care records and documentation.
- Report safeguarding concerns, incidents and changes in client needs promptly.
- Ensure compliance with CQC regulations, company policies and best practice.
- Participate in the on-call rota and provide support to the wider team when required.
- Travel across York, Harrogate and occasionally Beverley to support service delivery.
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Previous experience in domiciliary care, community care or health and social care.
- Experience working as a Senior Support Worker or an experienced Care Worker ready to progress.
- Strong understanding of person-centred care and safeguarding principles.
- Good knowledge of CQC Fundamental Standards and quality assurance.
- Experience supporting medication administration.
- Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and support a team effectively.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Access to a reliable vehicle for work purposes.
- Willingness to travel across York, Harrogate and Beverley.
- Flexibility to participate in the on-call rota.
- Female applicant (Genuine Occupational Requirement applies).
Desirable
- NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards).
- Experience completing spot checks, care reviews and staff supervisions.
- Previous experience supporting new starters or mentoring care staff.

Working Pattern
