At Trident Elite Protection Dogs, we train and supply world-class family protection dogs to clients across the UK and internationally. Alongside our protection dogs, we also provide residential training for pet dogs, making every day varied and rewarding.
We're looking for a dedicated Kennel Assistant / Cleaner to join our growing team. This is a hands-on role within a busy kennel and training environment, helping us maintain the exceptionally high standards we're known for.
The Role
Your primary responsibility will be ensuring our kennels and facilities remain clean, organised and hygienic. Alongside this, you'll play an important role in the daily care of our dogs, assisting with exercise, health checks, enrichment and supporting our trainers where required.

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness throughout the kennels and training facilities.
- Clean and disinfect kennels, equipment, food bowls and communal areas.
- Feed, exercise and care for dogs in our training programmes.
- Carry out daily health and welfare checks, reporting any concerns promptly.
- Assist trainers with foundation obedience exercises and dog handling (full training provided).
- Support with enrichment, socialisation and maintaining structured daily routines.
- Keep accurate health and welfare records.
- Ensure all equipment is cleaned, maintained and stored correctly.
- Work closely with the training team to maintain the welfare and development of every dog.
Skills & Experience
- 1 Weekend working day will be a requirement.
- Previous experience working with dogs is preferred, whether professionally or through personal experience.
- Ability to take dogs home to expose home environments is preferred.
- A genuine passion for dog training and animal welfare.
- Confident handling dogs of different breeds, sizes and temperaments.
- Excellent attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness.
- Physically fit and comfortable working in all weather conditions.
- Reliable, hardworking and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- A full UK driving licence is desirable.
Training & Progression
We're committed to developing our team. Full in-house training will be provided, including foundation dog handling and training techniques.
As you gain experience, there will be opportunities to progress into more advanced training roles within the business for the right candidate.
Where suitable, we'd also love candidates who are able to take dogs home for overnight and weekend socialisation. This plays an important role in exposing our dogs to real home environments and is fully supported by our team.
