Honister Slate Mine is the last working slate mine in England. We work in the specialized sector of high-end residential and commercial stone projects. We have a large retail shop with smaller slate items. We are looking for a Stonemason to work with us. The role will include the manufacturing of Slate and responsibilities on a daily basis will include wet polishing and hand finishing of products. You will be taught how to make roofing slate and the traditional techniques will be passed on. Skills Required:
Using hand and power tools to shape, trim, cut stones and polish
Experience with slate is a bonus
Working as a team and self manageable
Full time position, Pay depends on your experience
