Role Summary
We are looking for a reliable and professional Class 1 Night Trunk Driver to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely transporting goods between our depots and customer locations during the night, ensuring deliveries are completed efficiently, securely and on time.
As one of our Night Trunk Drivers, you will play an important part in maintaining our high standards of customer service while complying with all road transport legislation, company policies and health and safety requirements.
Working Pattern & Pay
- Monday to Friday (no regular weekend working).
- 47.5 hours per week.
- Annual salary: £37,908.00 per annum.
- Night shift allowance: £3,200.00 per annum.
- ADR Allowance: £720.00 per annum
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class 1 (C+E) vehicle on scheduled night trunking routes.
- Complete deliveries and collections efficiently, ensuring all loads are transported safely and securely.
- Carry out daily vehicle safety checks and report any defects in line with Company procedures.
- Ensure all loads are correctly secured before commencing each journey.
- Comply with all relevant driving legislation, including Drivers' Hours, Working Time Directive and tachograph regulations.
- Follow Company policies, health and safety procedures and safe driving practices at all times.
- Communicate professionally with the transport office, customers and colleagues.
- Take pride in maintaining a professional attitude and contributing positively to the wider transport team.
What We're Looking For
- A valid UK Class 1 (Category C+E) driving licence.
- A valid Driver CPC qualification and Digital Tachograph Card.
- Previous Class 1 driving experience is preferred.
- A good understanding of Drivers' Hours legislation and road transport compliance.
- A strong commitment to safety, professionalism and excellent customer service.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- A reliable, flexible and positive approach to work.
- The ability to work independently and manage your time effectively during night shifts.
