Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of meals tailored to residents’ dietary requirements and preferences
- Ensure all food safety standards and hygiene regulations are strictly followed during food preparation and handling
- Assist with meal planning, ensuring balanced menus that promote health and well-being
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including equipment and storage spaces
- Support the serving of meals to residents with care and attention to presentation
- Collaborate with care staff to accommodate special dietary needs or restrictions
- Follow all safety procedures to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment
Experience
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or kitchen roles within a restaurant or catering setting
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hygiene and sanitation
- Hands-on culinary experience, including meal preparation and presentation skills
- Familiarity with serving food in a care home or similar environment is advantageous
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards
- Strong understanding of dietary requirements specific to elderly or vulnerable populations is preferred
