Haffey Sports Grounds, based on the outskirts of Portadown is a leading contractor specialising in civil engineering, playgrounds and sports grounds projects.
We are currently seeking a charge hand to join our growing team.
Key responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day operations of various projects and site operatives.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and other team members to ensure smooth workflow.
- Supervise and direct construction activities, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and project specifications.
- Provide guidance and support to construction crews, ensuring work is completed efficiently and to high standards.
- Monitor project progress, report any issues or delays and suggest solutions to overcome challenges.
- Manage resources effectively, including equipment, materials and manpower, to meet project deadlines and budget constraints.
- Communication effectively with team members and clients to address concerns and maintain project alignment.
- Coordinate the delivery and pickup of materials as needed for project operations.
Essential Criteria:
- Civil Engineering or Sports Grounds charge hand experience
- Valid Driving Licence
- Valid CSR Card or CSCS card or other relevant qualification.
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate construction crews.
- Excellent communication skills
- Have a willingness to work outside in all weather conditions.
Desirable Criteria:
- Relevant certifications or qualifications in construction management or a related field.
- Heavy machinery tickets.
