Primary Responsibility : Load Planner works in a fast-paced position that is at the hub of activity in our business units. Load Planners perform load planning activities, coordinate load assignments, and handle administrative paperwork and computer entry duties. The main objective is to verify that the customer’s needs are met in a prompt and professional manner.What You’ll Do : • Establish a working knowledge and develop professional relationships with our carriers to help build our carrier base by keeping daily communication with all the carriers• Plans loads and follow through with shipping out of multiple warehouses and plans with multiple logistics carriers by following requested arrival dates based on customer demand and needs• Schedule pickup and delivery appointments daily through multiple web portals, emails, and phone appointments• Follow up with logistics carriers to confirm arrivals on multiple warehouses, and reschedule as needed• Manage all issues related to service and meeting the customer’s performance expectations dailyWhat Experience and Education You Need : • 2 years university course work is preferred in one of the following areas: Business Management, Marketing, Industrial Technology, Operations Management, or Information Systems, etc.• 3+ years of customer service or load planning experience is required• Dispatch, telesales, and/or load planning experience is requiredWhat Could Set You Apart : • Must have a high level of self-motivation, excellent organizational skills, and ability to multi-task at very fast pace• Computer Skills: Proficient in assorted online scheduling platforms; Excel experience is required.Physical Requirements : • Requires the ability to sit for long periods of time, with frequent interruptions• Requires several hours per day of sitting, getting up and down from chairs, and reaching, or bending• Requires manual dexterity with normal hand and finger movements for typical office work• Talking, hearing, and seeing are important elements of completing assigned tasks• May require travel by automobile and airplane up for business• May require a visit to a facility operation in temperatures at or below freezing• May carry loads related to travel and occasionally lifts, carries, positions, or moves objects weighing up to 20 pounds• Requires the use of various electronic tools• Requires the ability to relate to others beyond giving and receiving instructions: must partner with colleagues without exhibiting behavioral extremes• Requires the performance of work activities including reasoning, negotiating, instructing, persuading, or speaking with others; and respond appropriately to constructive feedback from executive management.• Overtime may be required.Work Environment : The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
