ROLE: Multi‑Skilled Technician (Electrical Bias)
HOURS: 38.5 hours per week - 4 on / 4 off shift pattern (12‑hour shifts)
LOCATION: Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 4LP

We're looking for a Multi‑Skilled Technician (Electrical Bias) to join our professional Estates Maintenance team, delivering safe, compliant, and high‑quality electrical maintenance services within a complex healthcare environment.
Role Responsibilities-
Undertake planned preventative maintenance (PPM), servicing, testing, fault diagnosis, repair, and calibration of electrical and associated building services plant and equipment.

Carry out emergency lighting testing to BS EN 5266, fixed wire testing to BS 7671, and lightning protection testing to BS EN 62305, rectifying faults as required.

Respond promptly to reactive maintenance and breakdown requests and carry out electrical isolations for specialist contractors.

Participate in weekly fire alarm testing and support wider Estates Maintenance team activities through flexible, multi‑trade working.

Work safely and in full compliance with Trust and departmental Health & Safety procedures, maintaining accurate estates records, asset data, and plant history.
Required Qualifications
Applicants must meet the below defined requirements for the role:

Completion of a recognised engineering apprenticeship with City & Guilds, BTEC, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent in an electrical engineering discipline.

IEE 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) with City & Guilds 2391 (Inspection & Testing) or equivalent.
