We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our growing Project Management Team and lead the delivery of a significant portfolio of construction, regeneration and infrastructure projects. What you'll be doing
As a Project Manager, you will take ownership of projects throughout their entire lifecycle, leading delivery from concept and business case development through procurement, design, construction, implementation and post-project evaluation. Working closely with colleagues, consultants, contractors, funding bodies and external partners, you will ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with agreed objectives.
You will be responsible for developing and managing project plans, budgets, programmes, governance documentation and risk management processes, ensuring projects remain on track and that issues are addressed proactively. A key part of the role will involve preparing high-quality reports, Board papers and briefing notes for programme boards, senior leaders and elected members. You will present project information confidently, provide clear recommendations and support effective decision-making at all levels.
Success in this role requires a strong focus on accountability, transparency and delivery. You will manage competing priorities, work to demanding timescales and ensure key milestones and deadlines are achieved. You will also oversee procurement activity, manage consultant and contractor relationships, and work collaboratively with developers, statutory bodies, utility providers, landowners and funding partners to deliver successful project outcomes.
What we're looking for
We are seeking a proactive and results-focused project professional with experience delivering construction, regeneration, infrastructure, capital, or built-environment projects. You may already be working directly within the construction industry or in a project role where construction-related activity forms part of a wider programme of work. We welcome applications from individuals with at least two years' experience delivering or coordinating construction-related projects who are looking to build on their project management expertise within a diverse and ambitious capital programme.
You will have strong project planning, communication and stakeholder management skills, together with the ability to drive projects forward and maintain momentum across multiple workstreams. Experience preparing reports and presenting to Boards, governance groups or senior stakeholders will be highly desirable, along with an understanding of procurement, contract management and project governance. A recognised project management qualification, such as PRINCE2 or APM PMQ, together with a relevant degree, professional qualification or equivalent experience, would be advantageous.
