Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to join our team in a dual-role position, supporting both cleaning and security operations within a retail environment. The ideal candidate will have experience using walk-behind scrubber dryers and will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene across various areas of the site. In addition, the successful candidate will occasionally support the security team, helping to ensure the safety and security of the premises, staff, and visitors.
This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and a flexible approach to working hours, including covering additional shifts during staff absences, training or annual leave. The area of shift coverage will be Clydebank, Glasgow and Motherwell.
Responsibilities
- Perform cleaning duties in designated areas, including offices, restrooms, and communal spaces.
- Dust, sweep, mop, and vacuum floors to maintain a clean and presentable environment.
- Operate floor-cleaning machinery such as walk-behind scrubber dryers in communal areas like reception and canteen.
- Clean and disinfect restrooms, ensuring hygiene standards are met.
- Refill and restock cleaning supplies and toiletries (e.g., hand wash, toilet paper).
- Empty bins and dispose of waste in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with team members to address specific cleaning requirements or concerns.
- Support the security team as needed, including monitoring access points, conducting routine checks, and reporting any unusual activity. Must have a valid SIA licence (SG or DS).
- Maintain a visible presence to deter unauthorized access and ensure a safe environment.
- Must be willing to train for an SIA CCTV Licence if required.
- Must have transport and a valid licence to operate in the UK.
- Must be willing to cover sites in retail, corporate and gatehouse environments.
Skills and Experience
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members and respond to site needs.
- Ability to provide excellent customer service while maintaining professionalism.
- High attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintaining cleanliness and safety standards.
- Previous cleaning experience is essential, ideally with training in the use of scrubber dryers.
- A flexible and reliable approach to work, with the ability to adapt to both cleaning and security responsibilities.
- Experience of working in a security environment with an emphasis on customer service.
