About the Role
We are looking for an organised, proactive and hands-on Depot & Operations Coordinator to join our team and play a key role in keeping our depots, vehicles, equipment and operational teams running efficiently.
This is a varied and hands-on position suited to someone who enjoys being involved in the day-to-day operation and is confident working across both depot and site environments.
You will be responsible for maintaining high standards across both depots, ensuring the correct equipment is available for planned works, supporting our operational teams and helping to maintain a safe, compliant and efficient working environment.
The successful candidate will also be required to assist on site with traffic management installations and works when required, so Lantra and relevant Streetworks qualifications are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Depot Management & Housekeeping
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organisation and presentation across both depots.
- Carry out regular stock checks across both depots and maintain accurate stock records.
- Ensure equipment and materials are stored safely and efficiently.
- Identify shortages, damaged equipment and replenishment requirements.
- Assist with sign making and preparation of traffic management equipment.
Operational Planning & Equipment
- Use Reflow and other operational systems to look ahead at planned works.
- Ensure the correct equipment, vehicles and resources are available for upcoming works.
- Prepare and organise equipment for planned projects and installations.
- Liaise with the Operations Team and site-based operatives to resolve equipment and logistical requirements.
Fleet & Vehicle Management
- Carry out regular vehicle maintenance checks and inspections.
- Report defects, maintenance requirements and compliance issues promptly.
- Assist with coordinating vehicle servicing, repairs and inspections.
- Basic vehicle repair and maintenance experience would be highly advantageous.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Maintain high standards of Health & Safety across both depots.
- Complete regular fire checks and other required depot safety inspections.
- Ensure depot activities are carried out in accordance with company procedures.
- Identify and escalate Health & Safety concerns to the Operations Manager.
Site & Operational Support
- Attend site meetings where required.
- Carry out regular site audits and operative check-ups.
- Assist with traffic management installations and site works when required.
- Provide operational support to site teams and respond to issues as they arise.
- Liaise closely with operatives and the office to ensure effective communication and smooth delivery of works.
People & Recruitment
- Assist with operative interviews and recruitment activities.
- Support the induction of new operatives.
- Ensure new starters understand company procedures, expectations and operational requirements.
- Build positive working relationships with operatives and promote a strong team culture.
On-Call & General Operational Support
- Participate in on-call responsibilities as required.
- Provide support with urgent out-of-hours operational issues.
- Complete additional duties and projects as directed by the Operations Manager.
- Provide regular updates and reports to the Operations Manager.
- Identify opportunities to improve depot efficiency, stock control and operational processes.
About You
We are looking for someone who is reliable, organised, practical and proactive, with the ability to take ownership and get things done.
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Previous experience within traffic management or a similar operational/depot environment.
- Lantra and relevant Streetworks qualifications – essential.
- A good understanding of traffic management equipment, vehicles and site operations.
- Experience using Reflow or similar operational management systems would be advantageous.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- The ability to prioritise workloads in a fast-paced operational environment.
- A strong commitment to Health & Safety.
- Confidence communicating with operatives, management and other stakeholders.
- Basic vehicle maintenance and repair knowledge would be highly desirable.
- A full UK driving licence.
What We Offer
- £40,000–£45,000 salary, depending on experience.
- Fortnightly pay as standard.

- Anticipated working hours of approximately 6:00am–4:00pm (final hours to be confirmed).

We're looking for someone who is hands-on, organised and commercially aware, who can move between managing the depot, supporting the office, dealing with operatives and getting involved on site when required.
