The School of Life Sciences is looking to recruit maternity cover for a technician/ demonstrator in its existing team of technicians who provide technical support for undergraduate and postgraduate practicals and projects.
The successful candidate will be directly involved in delivering training to lab users as well as demonstrating during practical sessions and participating in outreach activities.
The ideal candidate for this post will be a highly motivated and experienced laboratory technician with a wide range of bio-science related technical expertise in areas such as microbiology, molecular biology, microscopy, chemistry ) and who is used to working with UG / PG students.
You will be expected to participate in the general running of the teaching laboratories, particularly in the areas of health and safety. You will also work closely with students and academic members of staff to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the laboratories and associated services across the School.
You will need to be very well organised, practical and work to a high standard. You will also be a strong communicator and be prepared to work flexibly.
