An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Paediatric Dietitian to join the Dietetic team at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay, based at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary. Located close to both Manchester and the Lake District, the area offers excellent opportunities for a positive work-life balance.
The successful candidate will work within an experienced MDT, including Paediatricians, Nurses, Therapists and Dietitians, delivering care across health and social care settings. The role includes inpatient and outpatient work, providing experience in a wide range of specialist areas, eg nutrition support, enteral feeding, gastroenterology, food allergy & feeding difficulties.
The department is approved for training student dietitians and the post-holder will support the development of students, junior staff and colleagues within the wider MDT. Opportunities are available to contribute to service development. The department offers excellent IT systems and a strong commitment to continuing professional development.
Applicants must be HCPC-registered Dietitians and should have experience in paediatrics or be able to demonstrate transferable skills and a strong interest in developing a career in paediatric dietetics. Training and development opportunities will be supported where appropriate.
The role is based at Royal Lancaster Infirmary and requires travel. All new Trust employees will be subject to a satisfactory 6-month probationary period.

To use your specialist knowledge, skills and experience to advise and support staff on managing complex paediatric clinical issues for the Dietetic site service and at other UHMBT sites as required.
To be responsible for managing a caseload of patients with a range of frequently complex conditions, appropriate to specialist knowledge and skill level and experience.
The post-holder will take responsibility for the management of their own caseload without direct supervision, whilst continuing to develop specialist clinical skills, knowledge and experience as identified in the post-holder's Performance and Development plan (PDP).
To support the implementation of service improvement and developments within the Trust Paediatric Dietetic Service.
The post-holder will undertake clinical and departmental support duties.
We operate from three main hospitals-Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.
WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
Our Community Service for adults are provided in people's homes ,community centres, clinics, GP Practices, community hospitals. Our aim is to work with people to help them remain independent , improve their health and manage their conditions through high quality care , advice and support.
