About the Company
Our client is a well-established and growing international freight forwarding business, delivering end-to-end logistics solutions across global markets. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Ocean Freight Import/export Operator to join their operations team.
The Role
You will be responsible for managing ocean import shipments from origin through to final delivery, ensuring smooth, compliant, and cost-effective operations.
This role is ideal for someone with strong sea freight import experience, with additional exposure to air or road freight considered a strong advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage FCL & LCL ocean import shipments from booking to final delivery
- Coordinate with overseas agents, shipping lines, and hauliers
- Handle full documentation (Bills of Lading, arrival notices, customs entries, etc.)
- Arrange customs clearance and final mile delivery
- Track shipments and proactively resolve delays or issues
- Liaise with customers, providing regular updates and high-level service
- Ensure compliance with all import regulations and procedures
- Support cross-functional operations where required (air/road – desirable)
Requirements
- 2+ years’ experience in ocean freight imports/exports (essential)
- Strong knowledge of FCL / LCL operations
- Experience with customs processes and import documentation
- Exposure to multimodal freight (air or road) is a strong advantage
- Experience working with international agents and carriers
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple shipments
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Pay: Up to £42,000.00 per year
