We’re looking for a friendly, reliable and hardworking Butchery/Retail Assistant to join our small, busy team.
We are a family-run farm and butchery, selling our own home-produced beef and lamb alongside locally sourced produce, game and a range of other quality foods. We pride ourselves on friendly service, great-quality products and supporting British farming.
The role:
The successful candidate will help with the day-to-day running of the shop and will be involved in a variety of tasks, including:
- Serving customers, taking orders and providing friendly, helpful service
- Assisting with food preparation, sausage making and basic butchery (training provided)
- Stocking and displaying products
- Keeping the shop, counters and equipment clean and tidy
- Following food hygiene, allergen and health & safety procedures
- Helping the butchery team with general tasks as required
No previous butchery experience is essential as full training will be provided.
Previous experience in a butcher’s shop, farm shop, food retail, hospitality or a similar customer-facing role would be an advantage.

- Able to work calmly in a busy environment, an ability to use initiative
- Confident handling food and following hygiene procedures
- Comfortable with some physical work, including lifting and being on your feet
Hours:
Approximately 18 hours per week across 3 days, with flexibility around busy periods and seasonal demand.
Additional hours may be available at particularly busy times.
