About the Role
Harbour Investment Group is seeking an experienced, client-centric Senior Technical Consultant to join our technology advisory practice in London. In this critical technical leadership role, you will act as a trusted advisor to enterprise stakeholders, translating complex business objectives into scalable architecture designs, digital transformation roadmaps, and modern fintech/cloud integration platforms.
Working alongside investment leaders, enterprise architects, software delivery leads, and product teams, you will lead technical discovery sessions, evaluate legacy system architectures, and govern end-to-end implementation delivery. This position balances high-level solution design with practical technical oversight, providing clear opportunities to drive technology modernization across key financial and investment operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Strategy & Advisory: Partner with executive leadership and client stakeholders to evaluate current IT architectures, identify operational bottlenecks, and define scalable digital transformation roadmaps.
- Architecture & Solution Design: Design secure, high-performing enterprise solutions across public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), hybrid infrastructure, and API integration frameworks.
- Requirements Discovery & Scoping: Lead technical discovery workshops, capture functional and non-functional requirements, and produce detailed architectural diagrams, technical proposals, and Statements of Work (SOWs).
- Delivery Governance & Quality Control: Provide technical oversight throughout project lifecycles, ensuring implementation execution aligns with architectural standards, security policies, and financial compliance standards.
- Pre-Sales & Stakeholder Engagement: Support business development during pre-sales phases, present technical demonstrations, and craft comprehensive responses to RFPs and RFIs.
- Thought Leadership & Mentorship: Stay current with emerging financial technologies and cloud practices, publish internal technical guidelines, and mentor junior consultants in technical delivery and stakeholder management.
Skills & QualificationsEssential
- 5+ years of commercial experience as a Technical Consultant, Solutions Architect, or Technical Practice Lead within a consultancy, financial services, or professional services environment.
- Proven track record delivering enterprise solution architecture and cloud modernization initiatives (AWS or Azure).
- Deep technical expertise in modern integration patterns, microservices architecture, enterprise security, and identity management systems.
- Demonstrated ability to engage C-suite stakeholders, communicating complex technical and financial technology concepts clearly to non-technical business leaders.
- Hands-on background in software engineering, systems architecture, or cloud infrastructure platforms.
- Exceptional documentation skills, with extensive experience producing architectural designs, SOWs, and technical proposals.
Desirable
- Relevant Professional Certifications: TOGAF, AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Professional), Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or PRINCE2 / Agile credentials.
- Experience with fintech platforms, enterprise ERP/CRM implementations, or API management gateways.
