Role Description The Experienced Signage Installer / Sign Fitter is a full-time, on-site role based in Birmingham, responsible for the safe and accurate installation of a wide variety of signage and graphics. Day-to-day activities include preparing and fitting internal and external signs, shop fascias, illuminated and LED signage, 3D lettering, vehicle graphics, window and wall graphics, and exhibition displays at client locations. The role involves interpreting installation plans and drawings, using appropriate tools and access equipment, ensuring all work meets quality, safety, and branding standards, and completing installations within agreed timelines. The installer will collaborate with project managers, designers, and production teams to plan site visits, resolve technical challenges, and provide feedback on installation feasibility. The position also requires maintaining tools and equipment, adhering to health and safety regulations, and delivering professional, courteous service to clients on-site.
Qualifications
- Strong practical skills in signage installation, including fitting internal and external signs, illuminated signage, fascias, and graphics.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, fixings, and access equipment (such as ladders, towers, or platforms) safely and effectively.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, layout plans, measurements, and specifications with high attention to detail.
- Experience working on-site at commercial or retail premises, with a focus on cleanliness, professionalism, and minimal disruption.
- Solid understanding of health and safety practices, including working at height, manual handling, and safe site setup.
- Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with project managers, designers, and production staff.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, adaptability, and a proactive approach to resolving installation challenges on-site.
- Valid UK driving license and willingness to travel to client locations as required.
- Previous experience in signage fitting or a closely related trade (e.g., shopfitting, construction, graphics installation) is highly beneficial
Pay: £25,420.00-£30,000.00 per year
