This is a full-time, hands-on role for someone who enjoys working directly with children but is also ready to guide and support other practitioners. You will take responsibility for the day-to-day organisation of your room, help your team provide engaging learning experiences and build positive relationships with children and their families.

We will happily consider job share applicants, wanting 2 or 3 days per week, all year round.
The role
You will:
- lead and support the practitioners working within your room;
- help ensure consistently high standards of care, learning and safeguarding;
- create a welcoming, stimulating and well-organised environment;
- oversee planning, observations and children’s development records;
- communicate confidently and sensitively with parents;
- support staff development and encourage good practice across the team; and
- work closely with the nursery management team.
About you
We are looking for someone who:
- holds a recognised Level 3 or higher early years qualification;
- has substantial experience working in a nursery or early years setting;
- has room leadership experience or is an experienced senior practitioner ready to progress;
- understands the EYFS and how young children learn and develop;
- communicates well with children, parents and colleagues;
- is organised, dependable and able to lead by example; and
- genuinely enjoys creating rich, engaging experiences for children.
A current paediatric first aid certificate would be helpful, although training can be arranged where appropriate.
