Responsibilities
- Supervise and facilitate contact sessions between children and their family members in accordance with court orders or care plans.
- Create a safe, welcoming environment that encourages positive interactions while maintaining clear boundaries.
- Observe and record children's behavior, emotional responses, and interactions during contact sessions to inform ongoing assessments.
- Communicate effectively with families, social workers, and other professionals to support consistent, coordinated care.
- Ensure all contact sessions adhere to health and safety protocols, safeguarding policies, and confidentiality standards.
- Manage scheduling of contact visits, including cancellations or rescheduling as needed, while maintaining accurate records of attendance.
- Provide support and guidance to children during contact sessions to promote emotional well-being and confidence.
Requirements
- Experience working with children in a supportive or supervisory capacity is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to remain calm, patient, and empathetic in challenging situations.
- Excellent observational skills to monitor children's behavior and emotional needs during contact.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions, policies, and procedures consistently.
- Good communication skills for liaising with families, colleagues, and external agencies effectively.
- Flexibility to work varied hours including evenings or weekends if required by the service schedule.
- A commitment to safeguarding principles and promoting the welfare of children at all times.
