Job Overview
We’re looking for enthusiastic, reliable and customer focused Front of House Team members to assist in our destination café set within a beautiful Nottinghamshire vineyard. Successful candidates will be the welcoming face of our establishment, responsible for delivering exceptional customer service in a lively hospitality environment. The café serves breakfast, lunch, and snacks, alongside private and corporate events, and acts as a welcoming community hub.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys delivering warm, genuine hospitality in a relaxed but high-quality environment. Strong barista experience would be advantageous, but not essential.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the set-up and opening of the business
- Support smooth day-to-day café and retail operations
- Prepare a range of hot and cold drinks
- Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining presentation standards
- Set up tables, organise seating arrangements, and ensure the dining area remains clean and inviting
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of menu offerings, including catering options and specials
- Support bar operations with barista duties if required, including preparing coffee and other beverages
- Handle payments accurately using the POS systems
- Collaborate with team members to deliver seamless service during busy periods
- Handle customer queries professionally and positively
- Maintain cleanliness and presentation of front-of-house and retail areas
- Follow food safety, allergen, and health & safety procedures
Skills
- Experience in catering, serving, or hospitality roles, especially a destination cafe or similar venue, is desirable.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures
- Previous barista skills and experience are advantageous
- Strong customer service skills
- Perform effectively as part of a small team
- Excellent communication skills with a friendly, approachable manner
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Organised with strong attention to detail in all aspects of service and food handling
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings and weekends if required
- A proactive attitude with a passion for delivering outstanding customer experiences
- Knowledge of local produce, food, or drink is advantageous
