Lloyd & Jones Engineers Ltd is one of the UK's leading independent distributors of precision tooling, engineering consumables, industrial supplies and maintenance products. We are looking for a reliable and organised Storekeeper to join our busy Burscough depot.
This is a hands-on role within a small, office-based stores environment where you will play a key part in ensuring high-value, precision tools and specialist stock are received, stored and despatched accurately to meet customer requirements.
The Role
As Storekeeper, your responsibilities will include:
- Receiving deliveries and checking goods against delivery documentation
- Booking stock onto the company computer system accurately
- Organising and maintaining stock within a small, office-based stores area
- Carrying out stock control and regular stock checking activities, ensuring accuracy at all times
- Picking customer orders accurately and efficiently, with careful attention to detail
- Packing and despatching orders for delivery or collection
- Maintaining a clean, safe and well-organised working environment
- Ensuring high-value, precision tools and components are correctly stored and accounted for at all times
- Assisting with general stores duties as required
About You
The ideal candidate will:
- Have previous stores, stock control or similar experience
- Be comfortable working in a busy environment where accuracy is critical
- Possess strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
- Understand the importance of careful stock handling, particularly with high-value and precision items
- Be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a small team
- Have basic computer skills and experience of stock control systems (preferred)
- Experience within engineering, industrial or trade supplies would be advantageous but is not essential
