Pig Stockperson – On one of our farms in the Driffield area, being a remote location own transport is essential.
We are looking for a dedicated and proactive Pig Stockperson to join our team. You will play a vital role in maintaining the highest standards of animal welfare, husbandry, and production across the unit.
This is a hands-on position suited to someone who takes pride in their work, values teamwork, and is committed to continuous improvement, with the scope to progress for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the health and welfare of all pigs in line with welfare legislation and company standards
- Carry out daily husbandry duties to a consistently high standard
- Support strong production performance through attentive stock care
- Take responsibility for your own health and safety, and that of your colleagues
- Work collaboratively as part of a supportive team
- Provide cover during staff holidays and absences
- Communicate clearly and professionally with team members and external partners
- Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, integrity, and alignment with company values
Day-to-Day Duties
- Feed pigs the correct diets according to age, stage, and production requirements
- Ensure continuous access to clean, fresh water
- Safely move and handle all animals in conjunction with AHDB training and company standards.
- Identify sick or injured animals promptly and administer appropriate treatment as instructed
- Carry out vaccinations and health treatments in line with protocols
- Maintain clean, dry, and comfortable lying areas
- Monitor and maintain optimal environmental conditions (ventilation, temperature, hygiene)
- Uphold high standards of housekeeping and biosecurity
- Contribute positively to team discussions and farm operations
- Work overtime, including regular weekends, as and when required

Experience in pig production is desirable but not essential as training will be provided.
Hours & Benefits
Hours:
39 hours per week, with guaranteed regular overtime. Weekend work required on a rota basis.
Holidays:
31 days per year (including Bank Holidays).
