Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Cook to join our team in a newly refurbished cafe, based at Solihull Riding Club. The cafe is open most weekends, servicing our event competitors and spectators and we have plans to engage other new markets throughout 2026 and into 2027. Cheesy chips, burgers, paninis and toasties are the current order of the day, but there's scope to get creative as our offer evolves. The rest of the team is in place - we now just need a cook (or two on a rota basis) to complete our crew. You'll need to be happy working on a weekend as standard.
Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and cook a variety of dishes
- Ensure all food safety and sanitation guidelines are strictly followed during food handling and preparation
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including equipment and workstations
- Support the team during busy service hours by efficiently managing multiple tasks
- Follow proper food storage procedures to prevent spoilage and contamination
- Collaborate with team members to deliver exceptional service and uphold quality standards
- Support with stock management and ordering
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or kitchen operations within a cafe or similar setting
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling, and Level 3 Food Hygiene
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends on a regular basis
- Good understanding of kitchen equipment operation and maintenance
Pay: £15.00-£20.00 per hour
