Purpose:
We are recruiting a Pharmacy Technician working for TVS as part of Team Leidos; a team of defence and logistics specialists supporting a major transformation contract for the UK Ministry of Defence. The aim of the contract is to provide an end-to-end supply chain service and deliver commodity and inventory savings.
The role will be based at Emersons Green, Bristol, as part of a vibrant and dynamic team, committed to transforming the way the MoD works.
Please note we work on a hybrid model of two days in the Bristol office and three days working from home each week.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- To advise on the technical qualities and characteristics of pharmaceutical products
- To support regulatory activities related to the provision and management of pharmaceutical products
- To seek and collate pharmaceutical product information
- To effectively communicate that information, supporting other non-technical areas of the business with your subject matter expertise
- To liaise with the MoD customer, pharmaceutical manufacturers and suppliers
- To communicate effectively with a wide range of personalities and roles including corporate, healthcare and military personnel
- Sourcing new items and providing technical information in support of procurement
- Identifying where generic switching is appropriate and available for branded lines
- Sourcing and data management of a catalogue of suitable cost effective ‘specials’
- Identifying and advising on alternatives for out of stock and MCS items
- Dealing with customer queries regarding pharmaceutical items via our electronic service desk.
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
- Current registration as Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
- A minimum of 3 years recent experience in a Pharmaceutical environment. It is advantageous to have previous experience within Defence
- Knowledge of broad ranging Human & Veterinary Medicines, and Medical Consumables is advantageous
- Knowledge of regulatory activities related to pharmaceuticals
- Experience of data management systems
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Must be numerate and have a good command of English both written and verbal
- PC skills essential including knowledge of MS Office Suite including Excel
- Capacity to undertake work-related travel as some travel can be anticipated.
